NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS FOR COLLECTION, HAULING AND DISPOSAL OF MUNICIPAL WASTE, RECYCLABLE MATERIALS AND LEAF WASTE, WITH BULK TRASH OPTION, for approximately 3,002 municipal customers will be received at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Municipal Building, 2199 Buchert Road, Pottstown, PA 19464 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Bidders may obtain the Bid Packet at the office of the Township Manager, Lower Pottsgrove Township, 2199 Buchert Road, Pottstown, Pennsylvania, 19464. Bids shall be submitted for the Base Contract Period (January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2014), Optional Year #4 (January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015), and Optional Year #5 (January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016). Bid surety in the form of a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the highest total bid is required. A performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price shall be furnished by the successful bidder. Each bidder must submit bids on the forms provided by the Township. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids or parts thereof in the best interest of the Township. Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Municipal Building for the purpose of learning the scope of work, special conditions, bidding procedures and legal requirements.
